Optical Flares by VideoCopilot is one of my all time favorite plug-ins and I use it on almost every project I do. Instead of using the crappy old Lens Flare plug-in that After Effect offers you get a powerfull studio with over 60 presets. But you dont even need to limit yourself to the presets. You can also create your own flares using the many lens flare elements or even take your own images and use them as flare elements. For only 124$ this is really great and I highly recomend it. And did I mention that the flares are 3d?
